Adam takes on the role of developing Encore's direct sales and building a team of sales agents worldwide.

Adam has worked in the banking, industrial flooring and hospitality industries and brings a wealth of sales and customer service experience with him.

Mike Wicks (Vice-President Sales and Marketing)
Mike Wicks has 15-years experience counselling businesses and developing and delivering business training. As Small Business Manager of the Greater Victoria Economic Development Commission, Mike acted as a business advisor to businesses throughout Greater Victoria for over two years. He was General Manager of the Jim Reger Creating Results training company, managing the company and its roster of trainers; he also developed and facilitated many of the companys programs.

In the last 15 years he has trained, coached and counselled in excess of 2,000 business owners.

Before immigrating to Canada in 1992, Mike was a divisional head of Random House UK, a multinational publishing house, and subsequently Managing Director of the international specialist publishing house Rowan Publishing Ltd.

Mike is Vice-President Sales and Marketing for Encore Workshops and a senior partner in Knowledge Transfer Press, Encores parent company.

Ken Stratford (Vice-President Operations)
Ken Stratford brings a special focus to Encore Workshops. He has extensive experience in senior management with two, billion dollar companies along with a background in marketing, future visioning and people skills.

For the past twenty years as a specialist in the social and economic impact of change, he has served more than twenty boards and commissions including:

  • Chairman of the Board of the Western Partnership for Advanced Skills (WOPAS)
  • The President of the Community Information Technology Institute (CITI)
  • Member of the national panel on Community Applications in IT for change (CAP)
  • Member of the national panel on Community Applications in IT for change (CAP)
  • Chairman of the Workforce of the 21st Century (WorkForce21)

He gained recognition as an innovator more than twenty years ago when he conceived and wrote the plan for the 1986 Worlds Fair. By the early 1990s Ken Stratford began telling CEOs and audiences about the coming shortage of skilled labour, even though at the time, the unemployment rate in Canada and the United States was measured in double digits.

He delivers an average of 40 speaking engagements annually; primarily to business audiences on innovative thinking and the economic and social impact of change. He has authored a number of significant papers, many of which have resulted in national policy and strategy changes.
