About Encore Workshops

	The founders of Encore Workshops believe that professional development should be fun. As such, all Encore facilitator manuals have lots of anecdotes that can be used to bring a smile to participants. This philosophy can also be seen in the jacket of each Encore manual, where the carefully selected image depicts a lighter side of the subject matter.

The founders of Encore Workshops, Mike Wicks and Ken Stratford have worked together as trainers, motivators and mentors to over two thousand small businesses in the past twelve years. In addition the team has developed and delivered analytical programs to dozens of large corporations and national not-for-profit agencies.

The idea for Encore Workshops came to Mike Wicks while sitting in one of the very icons of new age marketing; Starbuck's, while he was taking a break from some 60 hours of work over a two-week period, writing a new training program for a client. "I started to think about the enormous training resources that a company like Starbuck's would have. That got me thinking about all the companies that couldn't afford that kind of commitment, or the high cost of bringing in professional trainers at a thousand dollar a day. I figured there had to be a better way".

Passionately committed to the idea that learning never stops, Mike, Ken and their development team are guided by the words of the longshoreman/philosopher Eric Hoffer who once wrote, "In times of change, learners inherit the earth, while those who stop learning find themselves beautifully equipped to deal with a world that no longer exists."

More than at any time in recent history, organizations large and small are being challenged to find and retain the people-resources to ensure they reach their goals. Managers the world over are recruiting, training and retraining their employees to ensure they are in harmony with the company's goals and objectives and creating a corporate culture that will encourage them to remain loyal.

Wicks and Stratford, known for their futuristic approach to the challenges of the business world, have brought together a development team of like minds to author a new generation of compact training programs to ensure that no organization is left behind in the race to adapt and succeed in the new environment.
